Genesis

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Guwahati Region was established in the year 1973. Over the years, the Region has been expanding with more and more number of Schools and presently the number of Vidyalayas reaching the total of 47 as per the re-organisation of Vidyalayas. Initially, KVS Guwahati Region included schools from Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and North Bengal but now all the schools in Guwahati Region are situated within the state of Assam only.

The Regional Office Started To Function From Its Own Building From April 2005.
